So sad to hear of Jack's passing. As a youth our family lived in Central Caribou. I knew Jack and always thought highly of him. I have been away from Pictou for many decades but when I heard of his passing some old memories flashed back. My condolences to his family - Pictou has lost a solid hardworking community member. RIP Jack.

I was saddened to hear of Jack's passing. I knew him through his work on the Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia milk marketing board. Jack was always thinking of new solutions to problems facing the industry. He followed the issues closely and wasn't shy to share his opinion with the Board.
A fond memory was traveling with Jack, and Kathleen, to dairy meetings out-of-province. She was always at his side, except when shopping with her sister on the Ottawa trips. Jack surprised alot of folks when, during a fiddle session at a banquet, he got up on the stage and step danced! Everyone cheered him on and enjoyed his skills on display.
Our warm thoughts to his family and friends

My uncle Jack by marriage was always up for a political conversation. I so enjoyed the chats that we had when I visited from Alberta. Uncle Jack always had an insightful and wise perspective on current affairs and we saw eye to eye politically on a lot of issues. Jack Ferguson was a wise , sensible and hard working man with a tough exterior but a very kind heart. The Ferguson family and the community of Pictou and Bayview have a huge loss. But I believe he is reunited with his parents and his adored Kathleen and is watching forever over the beloved Ferguson family farm. Rest easy Uncle Jack, Adrianna and I wish we could be there and our next visit to the farm will not be the same without you.

I remember Jack from school. I was older than Jack but remember when he started and what a bright little spark he was.
He was a bit shy but always quick to smile and was a nice boy. My deepest regrets to the Ferguson family.

My deepest condolences to the Ferguson family on the passing of Jack. Jack was a dedicated volenteer and a champion of all things agriculture. I had the privilege of serving with Jack on a couple of boards over the years and I was always impressed with his firm beliefs and his strong moral code.
His life had a positive influence on our community and he will be sadly missed by his many friends. May he rest in the peace of Christ.

On behalf of John (Johnny) Robinsons Family, we send out heartfelt condolences to the Fergusons. Johnny and Jack spent countless hours together and on the phone planning and preparing the exhibition each and every year. A life long friendship very much cherished. Prayers to his family and friends.

We will so miss Uncle Jack. Our family has so many very fond memories of visits from Ontario over many years.
As a young lady, I recall a square dance at Toney River. As I was not familiar with this, Jack kindly steered me through and I laughed the whole time. Jack and Kathleen attended the dances regularly (after the milking was done, of course)!
Summer visits to the farm have a very special place in our hearts, from my parents (Nelson and Bernice) right down to my young grandchildren.
We pray for peace, and a well-earned rest.

Jack was ‘just’ a down to earth farmboy, whip smart, caring, compassionate and a bit gruff. He had great abilities to read people, get to the core of an issue and develop a plan to address the issue.
He literally was Mr. Exhibition. His many hours over most summers held it together. It seems trite to say he will be missed, but he certainly leaves a huge deficit.
My sincere condolences to the Fergusons

Jack's passing is a huge loss to his family as well as the many organizations he was involved with. Some would say he was quiet but when he spoke he was always well worth listening to. I knew Jack for close to sixty years and he was always the same---a great guy who gave his all to everything he did. Sincere condolences to entire Ferguson family. Take comfort that he had a life well lived.

My condolences to the Ferguson family, No one has to say how great a man Jack was, if you knew him. If we hear thunder in the next while it's just a lot of hot polka being danced. Again My Condolences and hugs to all.

Jody and I send our love and condolences to the entire Ferguson Family.
Jack was a great man - always so giving of himself to the organizations he was passionate about. I have wonderful memories of working with him related to the Pictou-North Colchester Exhibition.
As with all the Ferguson Brothers - a conversation with Jack always had a good laugh at the end, regardless how serious the topic may have been.
The Agricultural and Exhibition and Fair Communities lost a great man with a big heart.
