To Helen’s Family
I would like to send my condolences to cousin Helen’s family. I have had the privilege of feeling the warmth of Helen’s gentle, sincere words and smiling face over my lifetime. Receiving the word of her passing was a shock as I had enjoyed her presence earlier this summer with my family visit to Pictou. Fortunately I have many memories of visits with Helen and Pete frequently enjoying rehashing stories about our times at Gramma Grahams and other Graham Clan members.

Upon browsing on this site I was surprised to see your beautiful and special
Mother who had oodles of great spirit had passed . No clue she was this age . You will miss her presence. and her jovial kind love . Truly a special person and we definitely know she is resting in our Lord’s arms . I was so sorry to hear of Helen's passing. And was always a joy to have on my bus (CHAD Transit). She was so proud of her family and would ask me if I knew her granddaughter Stacey who is also a regular rider on my bus.
Driving the bus sometimes we get to know our clients and it is always sad when we hear of the death of someone we've gotten to know. I want to share something that I wrote (below) that truly captures the essence of how I feel whenever I hear that a CHAD passenger, client, family member passes. Celebrate Helen's life and carry your memories within your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you family.
A Bus Driver's Lament
Each day we drive the bus
We pick up people without the fuss
Some of them ride with us every day
We do our best getting them on their way
The more we drive them, the more we learn
We'll get to know each other on every turn
We make our way sharing the good and bad
Sometimes we laugh sometimes we're sad
Then one day they don't get on
We can't help but wonder
where they've gone
Later we hear that they have died
More than once I've pulled over and cried.
Be assured my passenger and my friend
Our thoughts and talk of you doesn't end
Because on the ride each passing day
We all talk of you and have wonderful things to say
When you rode with us you had so much to give
Though you are no longer with us,
In our hearts you will always LIVE.

Dear Ann Marie and Stacy ,
I was saddened to hear of your mother ‘S ( grandmother’s) passing.
She was a very dear and interesting lady whom I always enjoyed engaging in conversation with at work.
For a long time she showed her grit and determination to stay mobile and she was a pleasure to work with.
I will miss seeing her at Shiretown and will cherish my memories of her with a smile.
