MacNEILL, Yvonne M.
Braeshore
It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Marie MacNeill, 79, of Braeshore. Yvonne passed away in the early morning of November 9, 2023 at the QE2 in Halifax, NS. Yvonne was born on May 31, 1944 to Marion and George Hawes and grew up in Pictou. She took great joy in life being surrounded by those she loved so much, enjoying laughs, making meals, telling memories of her and Grampy's younger years, and watching all her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and run around in their home in Braeshore. She was beloved by all who knew her and was the most dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Yvonne is survived by and will be dearly missed by her husband, soulmate, and best friend of 64 years, Tyrone MacNeill; her two sons, Toby (Ali) and Trent (Madelin) who although lived far from home were always so close to her heart; granddaughters, Brittany (Mathew), Megan (James), Mayah, Amirah and Drew, all of whom Nanny was so proud of; great-grandchildren, who she always referred to as her little beauties, Georgia, Atlas, Aubrey, Emerald, Isla, Ivan, Sadie and Vera; siblings, Joe, Connie (Frank), Sandy (Jody); sisters-in-law; Mitzie, Terri, and Tanya; and of course furry friend, Max. Yvonne has been met at the heavenly gates by her parents, Marion and George Hawes; sisters-in-law, Toni, Margo and Judy; and brother-in-law, Cody. With any visit to Nanny's house or even with our last visit to her in the hospital, it ended not with goodbye, but with "I love you, see you later." Cremation has taken place and following Nanny's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, SPCA or charity of choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
