I echo the many notes of appreciation for Vince’s professional and personal integrity. I worked with him at the Infirmary from 1965-1968. My condolences to the family..loosing both mother and father in such a short time must be very difficult.
Vince and Florence were a great team… and seeing the names of their children brought back memories of his delight in their antics way back in the 60’s!
Memories are a great comfort.

To the Heighton family, the Snow family was so saddened to learn of Vincent's death so soon after his dear wife, Florence. My mother, Doreen (Langille )Snow grew up with the Heightons and was very good friends with Vincent's sister, Janet. Growing up, she spent a lot of time in the Heighton home. Vincent was 4 years younger and there were stories of playing the piano, putting on their own plays, running from the family rooster if one got too close, and was chased to the door. Cherished stories of a home that was welcoming and filled with laughter and love. Vincent's brother, Bruce was my Godfather and all of the Heighton family were held in high regard amongst the Snows. Heaven has surely gained two angels in a short time and they both have left this earth a better place for their love and kindness that they shared so freely. Our sincere condolences to all of the family,
Mary Anne (Snow) Earle

Vince was a wonderful and kind friend to my father Ron Charlton who passed earlier this spring.
A lovely man who dad was proud of and continued to see and show care for dad even when my father was no longer able to leave his home because of advanced Parkinsons and Dementia. Despite the challenges of his own family s health he made time to check in with us and his friends in the community.
I had the sense that Vince was looking after so many people over the last many years and my family cherished the friendship he had with our father.
I did not know he was sick and have a feeling that he was about being a beacon of strengh for others and kept his own struggles to himself.
A kind, soft spoken, and refined gentleman that will sadly be missed by all that have known him.
My condolences to the family.

My wife Barbara and I offer our condolences to Vinces family on his recent passing. Vince was my first boss after graduating with my pharmacy degree. It was at the Halifax Infirmary in 1967 where I began my hospital pharmacy career under Vinces tutorage. Vince was always respectful and patient toward me as I learned the ropes. His sense of humor and love for the profession (and life) inspired me to follow in his footsteps in my career. My abilities as a hospital pharmacy manager were enhanced by the skills, the ethics and professionalism that I learned from him. He was truly a dedicated professional not only to his job, but to all the staff that found themselves lucky enough to work with him. Vince was a great mentor.
Again my condolences to the family.

I was so saddened to learn of Vince’s passing. My mother knew Vince as she grew up in Pictou and went to school with him. But it was through my dad, Ron Charlton and the Tim Horton coffee group, that I met Vince. Always such a kind and positive gentleman. My father treasured his time at Tim Hortons and the friendships he developed there. Years ago, Vince would join Dad on many of his daily walks. As Dad’s health declined and the walks and eventually the Tim Horton’s visits ended, Vince still took the time to check in and visit Dad which meant so much to Dad and all of us as his family. Vince even visited Dad when he was living in the nursing home- not an easy thing to do. Vince was truly a self less, kind and caring man. Dad passed away over 5 months ago but we all knew how much he respected and treasured his friendship with your father. My deepest condolences to all of you. I hope you know how much your dad meant to so many people.

I first met Vince In 1968 when he hired me as a 3 rd year summer student at the Infirmary and subsequently the following year as a registered pharmacist. I had high respect for Vince and he had a notable influence on my 40 year career in hospital pharmacy including steering me to a residency program. I recall an encouraging mentor with a substantial sense of humour. My deepest condolences to the Heighton family.

Vince will always have a special place in our hearts and will be greatly missed at Birch Cove Church. Vince had such a kind and giving spirit and will be remembered dearly by us all. Whether it was singing with Vince in the choir or working together to decorate the church for special occasions, Vince was always there to serve and give back to others. May you find comfort in knowing that Vince and Florence are both enjoying the splendors of heaven with their Lord.

We weep with you, as you once again say goodbye to your well loved and cherished parent! Vince was the choir manager of Birch Church Choir for many years. He kept us all organized, as well as sharing his lovely, lilting voice to the tenor section. He was a shining light in the church. You always walked away feeling you were special after talking to Vince. He was such an encourager!
We pray you will feel God’s arms around you as you navigate this road of sorrow but we rejoice in the knowledge Vince and Florence are together with their Lord and Vince is singing in the ultimate choir, the heavenly chorus.
