Obituary of William Robert Rae

RAE, William Robert “Bill” – Lyons Brook, died in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on May 12, 2019 surrounded by family.  Born April 7, 1948 Bill was the eldest son of the late Robert and Sadie (Bateman) Rae.  He is survived by Joann; son, Trevor (Angela) his mother, Patricia Rae; two granddaughters, Abbie and Cally, whom he was so proud of; devoted step daughters, Michelle (Phil), Shelly (Tyler), Sherry (Tony), Sheila (Dan); step grandchildren, Kyle, Samantha and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jude; sisters, Joan (Vincent), Connie (Donnie); brothers, Ross (Susan), David (Maxine); uncles, Deane (Doreen), Stewart (Evelyn); aunt, Bernice MacLeod; also many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Kevin, for all his help doing work inside and out; close friends, Kurt, Wade, Jimmie and George, who would visit at the house or by phone.  He also leaves behind his furry best friend, Bailee. Bill was predeceased by brother, Ronnie; step grandson, Terry; maternal grandparents, Douglas and Beulah Bateman; paternal grandparents, Bert and Agnes Rae; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Bill was a self employed carpenter and also worked at Pictou Marine Terminal.  He was an avid curling fan along with hockey and baseball.  Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where the Service will be held 11 AM Friday, with Rev.
