It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Marguerite Ellen Grant on August 12, 2018 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, surrounded by her daughters and family. Marguerite was born in Milford Station, a daughter of the late Edward & Myrtle (Miller) Nelson. She is survived by daughter, Kenda Grant, at home; daughter, Sandy (Doug) Cameron, Cape John; grandchildren, Det. Troy Cameron (Patti), Cochrane, Alberta; and Tracy Stuart (Jarret), River John; great grandchildren, Julia, Thomas, Chloe, Olivia, Brooklyn; sisters, Marion Maguire (Tom), Irene Hybers, Anne Conrod, Audrey Nelson; brother, Gary Nelson (Jocelyne); sister-in-law, Elaine Nelson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenny; brothers, Walter and Melvin. Mom was very active in the community and faithful in her church, St. George’s Presbyterian, where she was a choir member for many years. She loved her family, friends, animals and garden. Mom totally loved life on the farm, showing horses and tending her cattle. Special thanks to Dr. Rob Bush, Dale MacLellan, and the wonderful staff at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Wednesday in St. George’s Presbyterian Church, River John, with funeral from the church 2:00 PM on Thursday, with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating. Burial will be in the Hamilton Cemetery. Family flowers only please. As an avid cat lover, she would appreciate donations in her memory to the S.P.C.A., or if you prefer, to St. George’s Presbyterian Church.
