Obituary of Mary Adabelle Campbell

CAMPBELL, Mary Adabelle  -89, of Scotsburn, passed away at the QE II Halifax Infirmary on November 28, 2017.  Born in Millsville, she was a daughter of the late Fisher and Ellen MacLennan.  She was a teacher until her marriage.  She became a homemaker and a helper to her husband, Burnard, on their farm.  Later she worked at Clairtone Industries, Stellarton and then for many years graded eggs at the farm of Robert and Agnes Payne, Churchville.  Mary's greatest interests were her extended family as well as participating in many activities of Bethel Presbyterian Church, such as choir, Ladies Aid and AMS groups.  She enjoyed travelling.  In addition to driving across Canada, she visited the Yukon, drove the Alaska Highway, went to Scotland, London, parts of southern France and northern Italy.  Her hobbies included cooking, baking, knitting, needlepoint and quilting.  The last year of her life she found great joy in frequent visits from baby great-grandson, Tatum Fiander.  She is also survived by daughter, Sandra (Paul) Fiander; grandchildren, Lisa (Douglas) Beazley-Fiander, Mark (Christine), Krista and Alana and great-grandson, Jackson Beazley; brothers, John and Fisher MacLennan; sisters, Kathryn McCulloch, Julia Hope and Susan Miller.  Besides her husband, Burnard, she was predeceased by brother, Lloyd MacLennan; sister, Marjorie Jenkins; and great-grandson, Mason Fiander.  She will be sadly missed by nephew, Ross Campbell and his wife Ruth; as well as good friend, Valerie Aikens of Halifax.  Although she spent the last 3 years of her life in Halifax, we are grateful to her many kind neighbors, friends and relatives in Pictou County who continued to be supportive.  Cremation has taken place.  Funeral will be held 11AM Monday, December 4th from Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn followed by interment and reception.  Family flowers only.  Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Church, the MS Society or a charity of your choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
