Obituary of George Leonard Innis
INNIS, George Leonard -75, of the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou and formerly of Welsford, Pictou County, passed away July 2, 2018 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Hedgeville, he was a son of the late Alexander & Irma (Wilson) Innis. George was retired from the Department of Transportation, where he worked as a truck driver for many years. A talented welder and mechanic, in his younger days he enjoyed racing his own stock car at the local dirt tracks. More recently he loved cards, and was always up for a game of crib. He is survived by his son, Michael, New Glasgow; sister, Glenna (Michael), Cape Breton; brothers, Jimmie (Carol), England; Duane (Gail) and Steven, of River John; his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Kelly. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Hamilton Cemetery, River John. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Burrill and the entire staff of the IOOF Home for the excellent care they provided.
