MacKAY, Ardith I.
Pictou County
MacKay, Ardith Ida -of Pictou County, NS, born August 22,1948, died December 31st, 2024. Predeceased by parents, my ancestors, and my descendents. Survived by my beloved family, Watson Inglis, husband and best friend; brothers, Peter and wife Carol MacKay, Elmo MacKay, and Robin Lincoln. Leslie Hazel Avis, Dan Avis, and the grandest of young women, Jordan and Hannah Avis. Nephews and families, Doug, Hye gyung, Angie MacKay, Gordon, Mehee, Sugee, Lena MacKay. I was fortunate to share life, support, love and laughter within my family. I also shared good times with Watson’s sisters and families, Heather Inglis Quinn, Allie, Scott, Erica Danells. Ajay Quinn, Michelle Fulton, Mya Lemoine. Sandi and Steve Corbin. Noel, Heather, Lucy Dyer. Special Mention, Teresa M. We were destined to meet and then meet again. And my special Drumming Women, Betty Lou, Sue, Nova and Cindy. We have explored the realms and large questions for 20 years. Despite loving solitude I, surprisingly, gathered a varied, insightful and fun group of friends over the years. You know who you are, because you’re still walking beside me. I sometimes wondered about the wisdom of setting all of us loose in the world at the same time, but we’ve created good memories. I graduated from MSVU, 1973, B.A. I also graduated from NSAC, 1990, Landscape Horticulture. The first taught me a love for researching which I’ve enjoyed all my life. The second gave me an abiding love for all things plant related and how to apply research from a science viewpoint which has been useful in life. What a privilege to create gardens with someone else’s money. Later I was fortunate to be able to train, research and practice energy healing with animals, interspecies communication, and spirit based learning and healing. In the course of life I have been privileged to be accompanied by many animal teachers. Bless you all. Thanks to Pat for sharing her cat Mac with us when we had none.
“Somewhere between right doing and wrong doing there is a garden, I will meet you there.” -Rumi
There will be no funeral. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
We would like to thank the Dr’s and nurses of the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital and the local VON nurses for their kind and gentle service.
