Obituary of Judith Earlyn Tetreault
TETREAULT, Judith Earlyn “Lyn” (nee Lyons), 75 years, of Pictou and formerly of Truro, died June 25, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow after a very brief battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loving and devoted children, Lyn boarded the Aurum to be with her loving parents, Bob and Goldye Lyons. Lyn was born in Halifax at the Infirmary on December 27th, 1942, a daughter of the late Bob and Goldye (Williams) Lyons. Lyn and her parents lived in various places in Nova Scotia as her father Bob was in the Navy. In 1946, they settled in Truro, Nova Scotia. She attended school in Truro and graduated from Colchester County Academy in 1960. She then went to Halifax and attended the Victoria General Nursing School. Lyn moved to Montreal, Quebec and it was there that her three children were born. She moved to Pictou in 1972 with her three children. She began working at the Aberdeen Hospital and remained there until she retired in 2002. She was an OR Technician and was amazing at her job. She was well respected by all of her colleagues, and was known for her kind demeanor and jovial laugh. Lyn was the president of the Pictou Ringette Association and she was also a member of the executive for the Provincial Ringette Association. She enjoyed figure skating, curling and tennis. Lyn also loved music of all genres; anything from Mozart to Tina Turner. Lyn’s greatest pride was her grandchildren, she was always there when they needed her and loved to spend time with them. She is survived by the following family members: her children, Patricia Tetreault (Alana Cassidy), Prince Albert, Sask; Suzy Nadeau (Tony), Lake Echo; John Tetreault (Kim Richardson) and her other daughter, Lori Currie, Pictou; her grandchildren, Brandon Emery (Lindsay), Alberta; Patrick Tetreault (Michaela Pellerine), Heathbell; Rebecca Ouellette, Lake Echo; Katelyn Tetreault, Pictou; and Robbie Tetreault, Pictou; great-granddaughter, Willow Emery, Alberta; her brother, Robert (Maria de los Angeles Ugalde Castro) of Pictou and San Isidro de El General, Costa Rica; and her sister, Lee Ann Lyons, Pictou. Lyn is also survived by her nephews, Terry McCully (Dinah Ortega), Calgary, Alberta; Benjamin McCully (Jen Arruda), Collingwood, Ontario; Dylan Lyons (Tara Heath), Nanaimo, British Columbia; and sister-in-law, Elaine Nystrom, Regina, Sask. The family wishes to expresses its appreciation to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital. The amazing care you gave our mother these last few days will never be forgotten. Funeral will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 29th from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. By the family’s request, there will be no visitation.
