My Deepest and warmest Condolences to All the family Karla, Tod and Frankie along with all his friends including myself. Remember him as a pretty good hockey player on the Caribou rural league team. The old rink would be full and Caribou with the 2 Hislop boys Jim and Bill, Henry and Alfie The 2 MacKeils with Frank and Ivan the 2 Mac Farlanes on the ice with others. And Frank a winger yelling " skate hard boys both ways and past the puck to me". The crowd going wild lifting the rafters rocking the old rink. He is up there getting a team togather already I'm sure. Love ya kid.

Todd, Karla and Frank and your families
It has been 31 years since I last saw your Dad. It was at the farewell party in Abercrombie for most Canso Chemicals employees. Even though he continued to be employed with the company for some years, I bet he didn't have as much fun at work every day like we had with the full compliment of employees.
Besides office administrative work I was involved with planning social activities for employees and their families. We held BBQ's; Lobster parties; dances and most fun for my team was planning and preparing for the 'kids' Christmas Party. You three were always there with your folks - you received a big bag of candy with a Christmas tree ornament and got to watch a wonderful NFB film. (Titles and availability of these films much scarcer and different from what Netflix offers 40 years later so don't blame me if you were bored at the time!).
Working with Frank and Leo was my privilege. Socializing with Frank and Linda at our events was a treat.
Please accept my condolences.
Nancy

So sad to learn of Frank's passing from John Cormier today.. I read all the tributes and agree. He was a super person. He loved
playing hockey. and his smile will be missed.. This is the last of the MacFarlane boys, all hockey players.. Certainly he will be admitted above without a large investigation.. My prayers for the family..

I met Frank when we were young teenagers. He always had a great sense of humour, and it seemed, even back then, that everybody knew Frank. We went to school together and played hockey on the same team as teens and young men. He was a good hockey player and was well known for his slapshot. I will always remember his good natured joking and him teasing his teammates in the dressing room at the old rink in Pictou. We shared the adventure of traveling to the tobacco harvest in Ontario, and sneaking off to the hotel for a few beers in Port Burwell on Friday nights. Most will remember when he first started dating Linda, and it was obvious to all that he had met the right girl for him. When they became a couple, one seldom heard either's name without the other being mentioned. Frank was always good hearted, his smile genuine and he engaged enthusiastically in conversation with everyone. I will miss visiting with him on my trips home. Frank will be missed, but will be fondly remembered by everyone. I send my sympathies to Karla, Frank and Todd and to his grandchildren, and friends with the hope their memories sustain them through this difficult time.

Sincere condolences to the MacFarlane family. The county will never be the same. Few, if any, were as colourful as Frank and he loved a good story or joke---even better if you hadn't heard it before. One of a kind. Rest in peace my friend. A life well lived...

MIke and I are saddened by this news. Mike thought the world of your Dad and there were many jokes and laughs shared between the two, most regarding Mike taking over Frank's position in the Fire Dept (although it would never happen and nobody could take Frank's place). Myself, I always looked forward to a big hug from your Dad whenever I saw him and I will miss that.
Cherish your memories and take comfort from them as they help you through this time.
