LANDRY, Walter Patrick ‘Bo’ Pictou Walter Patrick Landry, “Bo”, passed away peacefully in his home on October 28th, 2024, at the age of 83 years old. Born on September 7th, 1941, in Pictou NS, he was the eldest son of Walter and Caroline “Carrie” Landry. Bo lived a life sharing laughs and smiles anywhere he went. He had the ability to light up a room with his quick one-liners and sense of humour. He travelled at an early age to Ontario to find work, but came back home to Pictou to raise his family. Bo worked as a welder/boilermaker at the Pictou Shipyard, and the pulp mill, where he retired at an early age due to his failing eyesight. Bo was always very charismatic and charming, eventually leading him to finding the love of his life, Diane (Benoit) Landry. His love for his wife of 30 years was unparalleled; whether it was her delicious cooking, her generous heart, or her impressive skills at a game of crib - he knew he found his match. Together, they built a life full of unforgettable memories that will always be cherished. He also had a very special place in his heart for his children, grandchildren, and especially his namesake and great-grandson, Bo. He never missed an opportunity to show them how much he cared and their bonds were unbreakable. No matter what was needed, you could always count on him to be there. His unwavering love and support never failed as his biggest value in his life was his family. You could often find Bo striking a pose for a picture, wearing a funny wig, or showing off his best dance moves - anything for a laugh! He loved puttering around his yard, keeping himself busy making friends with natures creatures and giving them all names - a favourite being Henry the pheasant. Bo was a deeply beloved father, grandfather, husband, uncle, cousin, brother, & friend - especially lifelong friendships with Sonny Hebert and Eric Veniot. He truly was the light of our lives. Surviving is his loving wife, Diane Landry (Benoit); daughter, Terri Veniot (Landry); grandchildren, Niki and Naomi Veniot, Julia Landry, Patrick Landry; great-grandchild, Bo Roddick; brothers, Rick Landry (Pauline), David Landry (Chris); sister, Helen Pitts; step sons, Mark (Esther), Wade (Donna); step daughters, Sonya, Sherri (Aaron), their children, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Carrie Landry; son, Leonard Landry (Nikki); his brothers, Peter (Pam) and Bobby Landry; and brother-in-law, Bobby Pitts. The funeral will take place on Saturday, November 2nd at the Stella Marris Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 16 in Pictou. We invite you all to share memories, a laugh, and reminisce together at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Society. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEu3KPTt80Y
