Lovely Service Today . Harris was well respected and loved . We did not have a chance to say "Hi ". Just wanted to say 38 years ago I walked into Harris's office in New Glasgow. I wanted a lot of money . My own bank told me no , they told me to go. Harris asked for two reports , Gave the reports the next day . The next day Harris called and said " Go ahead with your project ." (And I never signed a piece of paper till 5 months later. ) The project was a success . Thank you

I would like to send my condolences to the Mackenzie Family. I remember Harris growing up, I hung around with his younger brother Greg. I used to see his older brother, Millard now and then when I was with Greg or doing something at their house. I remember when Harris was first dating Gayle. it was very common to see Harris and Gayle walking past our place holding hands. I believe if my memory is correct Harris played rugby with the Pictou Academy. I have bumped into Harris a couple of times over the years. Harris did not recognize me the first time we met as I had had moved away and everyone changes some. I had to introduce myself to Harris and mention Gregs name. To the family our sincere condolences on Harris's passing, may you be comforted by the many, (oh so many) wonderful memories of Harris at this time. Harris was one of a KIND, the BEST kind who throughout my RBC banking career, he was always upbeat, willing to help, and he had a way of making you feel better about things. His actions spoke words, he would never say about himself, he made a difference in other lives and made this a better place. He will most definitely be missed by everyone. So very sorry to learn of Harris’ passing. He was a real gentlemen and a genuine class act. Heartwarming to read from the obits how involved and committed he was to many volunteer organizations…..and the difference he made in the community. Of course there was always a good change you’d run into him in a rink at some point in time…supporting his children and grand children and local teams.

Gayle and family please accept my deepest sympathy in your loss of long time friend Harris. We started at the same time at The Royal Bank of Canada in Pictou when finishing at Pictou Academy. We enjoyed many years in the banking industry and shared memories often about the good old days. We shared 23 years on the Pictou Academy Educational Foundation where he was a faithful treasurer and gave sage advice. He was very proud of his family and faithfully volunteered in many ways. Dear Gayle and family, my sincere condolences on Harris' passing. I first met Harris over 40 years ago at the Royal Bank and he always went out of his way to be helpful. He enjoyed seeing success, and provided, in a very friendly way, good practical guidance on navigating business banking. Harris had a lot of old school common sense.
As well, we will all miss this great community supporter and worker who has left an enduring legacy through his volunteer work. He will be well remembered.

Harris was important in my life as best friend of my only brother-in-law, Alan MacDonald. I spent time with the Pictou crew, including Gayle and Harris and my sister Peggy and Al at Indian Shores, Florida. Harris looked out for my mother's interests as he did for many senior Pictou residents. He is remembered fondly and will be missed by many.

Gayle and family, it was a pleasure working alongside Harris on the Pictou Academy Educational Foundation for the past 5 years. The Foundation was so fortunate to have him serve as Treasurer for so long. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable person who certainly made me feel welcome from the first meeting I attended. I had the opportunity to meet him years earlier through relatives
and he always gave a friendly hello in passing when I would see him around. May your memories bring you comfort and may he rest in peace.
