HAWBOLDT, Paul Stephen ‘Otto’-53, of Plainfield, passed away suddenly October 22, 2024, at home. Born in New Glasgow he was the son of the late Weldon and Grace (Baillie) Hawboldt. Paul graduated from Pictou Regional Vocational School and worked in the machine shop at MacKay Meters, and the gravel pit with Eastern Cargo before joining Partners Construction, where he loved his job as a trucker. He enjoyed the outdoors year round, both on the four wheeler and snowmobile. Paul is survived by his son, Christian (Emma); sister, Wendy (Stanley) Langille; grandchildren, Hunter, Josie and Parker; nephew, Kyle (Jay); grandnieces, Jasmine, Harper and his very best friend, Walker. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Alfred; grandparents, Harold and Alexandria Morrison, Charles and Lizy Hawboldt. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Scotsburn. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the SPCA, or a charity of your choice.
