FORTUNE, Charles Anthony – 75, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our father Charlie. Born on Christmas day in Plainfield, NS, he was a son of the late John Austin and Elizabeth Myrtle (Reid) Fortune. Charlie worked most of his career in the Laborer’s Union and spoke proudly of the many local projects he worked on and the wonderful lasting friendships he made. Charlie is survived by his sons, Eugene (Heather), Toney River; David (Shauna), Pictou; grandchildren, Alyssa, Daniel; sister, Fern (Clayton) McGregor and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Lucy and cat, Molly. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Albert, Hughie, Eugene, Wilson, Allan; sisters, Anne, Emily and Evelyn. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A graveside committal will take place 2 PM Saturday at Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
