Obituary of Ronald Joseph Cotter

COTTER, Ronald Joseph (1950-2018), passed away June 16, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.  Ron was the son of the late Owen and Mary Cotter of Trenton.  He is survived by his wife, Meredith (Wisener); daughter, Molly; son, Patrick; and was predeceased by his elder son, Ben, in August, 2017.  Also surviving are his sisters, Joanne Wilkie, Ola (Dale) Williams, and Paulette (Jim) Fraser, and their families.  He was always supported by the Wisener siblings, Lynn, David, Annabel, Barbara, and Barry.  Ron spent his 30 year teaching career at Pictou Academy.  His children were a source of pride and joy, from accompanying their sporting events in younger years to following their pursuits as young adults.  The family has great respect for the many Health Care Workers they encountered at the Aberdeen Hospital over the last ten months - medical staff, VON, Continuing Care, Palliative Care, as well as hospital support systems, for their care, compassion, and professionalism.  Private burial will take place.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mclarenfuneral.ca
