My memories of John are visiting him in the home, always a smile on his face, always such good nature, and the love in his eyes when he saw Marge. As much as you will all miss him, keep the good memories forever in your heart.

John was much more than a Father In Law to me.. He was a friend that I looked up to and I loved dearly. John was a Canadian Veteran and I respected that very much. John was one of the greatest Husband, Brother, Father, Grampy and friend I have ever known. John had time for everyone in his life. We got to spend a lot of quality time together. We went to swamp buggy racing in Naples Florida and Motorcycle Bike Week numerous times in Daytona Florida. Whenever John came down for a visit I would be working on something in the house and John would be right by my side helping and giving me guidance if I needed it. The running joke was we would always end up at Lowes or Home Depot numerous times before we completed the project. I would hope to think John and I both thought it really wasn't just completing the task but the quality time we spent together. I remember the time John and Scott took me for a ride in the race boat. It was a very nice day and we were in the harbor and once the motor was fired up I could tell it was going to be a fast ride. Well we sped through the water faster than I have ever on any boat. It was a nice thrill for me and John asked me how I liked it and I said that was pretty fast. John laughed and said he had the practice motor in. Another time while in Daytona together we went to the Nascar Track and Museum. John was like my own personal guide of insider knowledge for a sport he loved. I Used to love going on John's boat and going for a ride just enjoying being on the water. We took a trip to Pictou Island and spent a few hours there. I remember how patient John was with teaching the boys how to fish. His grandkids loved the Cabin and the time they spent there with Grampy. John used to play The Three Stooges on the TV and he and the kids would laugh and laugh. John will always be in my heart and I will miss him. We are all for the better for having known him. Until we meet again take care.

Sending condolences to all of John’s family! I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know John for the last three years at Ivey’s. Lindsay and I spent so much time making him laugh and telling him we were jealous of his Lobster sandwiches. I was away on vacation and very sad to come home to hear of his passing. I hope it comforts you to know he was loved by many of us
