GRANT, Marion C.
Caribou River
It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of Marion Catherine (Falconer) Grant, age 87, of Caribou River on June 27, 2024 in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou. Born on June 9, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Sam & Bessie (Henderson) Falconer. She lived her entire life in Caribou River until January 2023 when she moved to nursing home care. Marion enjoyed knitting (especially mitts and socks for her family), baking bread and raisin buns (Bill’s favourite!), watching nature shows, seeing birds at the feeders, going for road trips, playing games on her tablet, and helping out in the community. She also enjoyed attending ceramic classes, where she made many beautiful pieces, and good times spent with the Red Hatters. Most of all she loved laughter, telling and listening to stories, and when family and friends would stop for a visit. She worked various jobs throughout her life including vegetable picking at Parker’s, dish washer at Lobster House Restaurant, fishing lobster with her husband, and fish processing plants in Lismore and many years at North Nova Seafoods. She is survived by her sons, Alex (Sheila), Toney River; Peter (Carolyn), Caribou River; twin daughters, Linda Cameron (Roddy Anderson), Seafoam and Mary Noel (Joe Stewart), Lyons Brook; grandchildren, Mitchell, Tamar, Sarah, Melissa, Emily, Brandie, Brent, Michael, Brian, Andrew, Eric, Amber, Zachary; fourteen great grandchildren with one more arriving next month; sisters, Harriet Johnson, Caribou River and Eileen Tattrie, Enfield; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2007; daughter, Terri; son, David; sons-in-law, James Cameron and David Holmes; brothers, Angus, Gordon, Harry and John. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Glen Haven and Shiretown Nursing Home, who provided excellent care to Mom. She loved each and every one of you. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Thursday July 4th in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. A private family funeral will be held. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Caribou River Upper Cemetery.
