Obituary of Ernest Aubrey Shea

SHEA, Ernest A. Pictou The family of the late Ernest Shea are sad to announce his passing on March 15, 2024. Ernie was born on October 7, 1934, to the late Hiram and Sarah (Rudolph) Shea. Ernie was born and raised in Braeshore. His printing career began at The Advocate before moving to Eastern Sign-Print. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and The Lions Club. He was a gardener, woodworker, and avid golfer. He enjoyed golfing with his friends at the Pictou Golf Club and all of his grandchildren. He was devoted to all his grandchildren and loved being their Grampy above all. He is survived by his wife, Hazel (Roach) Shea; his three children, Glenda Shea-Landry (Daniel), Elizabeth Maddox (James), and David Shea (Patricia); his grandchildren, Danielle Landry (Dwayne), Christopher Landry (Abigail), Jaymie Maddox (Andre), Kaitlyn Maddox, Timothy and Evan Shea, and three great-grandchildren. Ernie was the last surviving member of his family, he was predeceased by brothers, Roy, John, Newt, Robert, James, Alfred, and Donald and sisters, Jean, Ellie, and Minnie. The Funeral will be held at the Stella Maris Catholic Church on Wednesday March 20 at 2pm with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. There will be no visitation. Family flowers only. Donations in Ernie’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
