Obituary of Diane Casey

CASEY, Eva Diane Pictou December 31, 1946 - November 18, 2023 Eva “Diane” Casey passed away peacefully at the age of 76, at Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, on November 18, 2023. Diane was the only daughter of six children born to Jenny Marie (Doudelet) and Stephen Cornelius Casey of Pictou. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph Casey, Dennis Casey, and Ket Casey. She is predeceased by brothers, Douglas Casey and Donald Casey. Diane is survived by her three children, Kenneth “Stephen” William Magill, Susan Adele Magill and Jennifer Diane Denchfield (Magill). She was gifted with four grandchildren, Nicolas Kenneth Stephen Magill, Matthew Enrico Magill, Ashleigh Diane Denchfield, and Tyler David Denchfield. Diane’s last few years were brightened by the arrival of her first and only great-grandchild, Sebastian Maurice Nicola Magill, on July 26, 2022. Diane returned home to Pictou in her later years after raising her children and living for decades in southern Ontario. She longed to be closer to her childhood home and her family. Her brother Joe and his wife Coralie, from Pictou, provided her much needed care and support after she suffered a number of strokes. She had just recently moved into care at Glen Haven Manor, in New Glasgow. There will be a celebration of her life in the spring of 2024 when all her family are able to gather together in Pictou, Nova Scotia.
