Obituary of Mildred Lawrraine Stewart

STEWART, Mildred L. Pictou STEWART, Mildred Lawrraine -92, of Pictou, passed away July 19, 2023 in the Maritime Odd Fellows Home, Pictou surrounded by her family. Born in Pugwash, she was a daughter of the late Edmund & Myleta (Ferdinand) Belleville. For Mildred home was where her heart was. She took great pride in it sharing time with her family and friends. She spent quiet moments with her husband Frank enjoying the scenery around her, overlooking the Harbour. She especially enjoyed her back deck where she could watch the Harbour sailing races, in hopes she would spot someone she knew sailing pass by with a wave. She is survived by sons, Tom (Alice), Paul, Gordon (Robin); and daughter, Debbie (Randy) Van Veen; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Lloyd (Myrna) Stewart. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank. The last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by sisters, Laura, Lilla and Marguerite; brother, Theodore; and a sister and brother in infancy. Our thanks to all those who helped with her care during her time at Shiretown Nursing Home and later Maritime Odd Fellows Home to make those years her home where her heart was. Those acts of kindness and compassion will always be an inspiration to be kind to others. Funeral will be held 11 AM Friday in McLaren Funeral Chapel, Pictou, with Major Dan Roode officiating. Burial will follow in the Seaview Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
