CHARLENE MARY THORNE April 3, 1960 – June 2, 2023 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of “Charlene” Mary Thorne of Bayview. Charlene was the youngest daughter of the late Clarence and Irene (Doyle) Thorne, Pictou. A graduate of Pictou Academy, she excelled in her chosen career of Business receiving a Business Efficiency Award. She finished her studies and worked at Bob Naylor’s Convenience Store before gaining employment with the Nova Scotia Government Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. This was her dream job and she remained there for 34 years. Raised in a family where music was the central focus, it was only natural that she grew up with a love of music and dancing. She also enjoyed cross stitching and knitting, walking and exercise classes. Her greatest joy, however, was derived from doting on her many grand nieces/nephews (Cohen, Landon, Briar) (Connor, Christine) (Maddie, Mya, Macie) (Jai) (Keigan, Kelly) and her most recent blessings Malachai, Mila, Marllie, McKinley and Christian. Left to mourn her passing are her loving partner, Rankin MacKeil; stepchildren, Matthew (Deanna) and Nicholas (Zahra); sisters, Darlene Munroe and Linda (Larry) MacNeill; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Jimmy) Gunning; brothers-in-law, Clinton (Helen) MacKeil and David MacKeil; nephew, Nicholas (Sarah) Munroe and nieces, Crystal MacNeill, Tara MacNeill, Ashley MacNeill and Candice Thorne. She will be deeply missed by her best friend, Peggy MacIsaac and her much loved fur baby, Gracie. Besides her parents she was predeceased by beloved brothers, Donald Thorne and Jason Thorne; and brother-in-law, Sandy Munroe. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 2 p.m. from the Stella Maris Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. There will be no visitation. Donations in her memory may be made to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia (mentalhealthns.ca) or your local SPCA. www.mclarenfuneral.ca Charlene reflected beauty – both within and without.
