Thank you Richard and Carol. She was amazing eh! I've learned so much about her by hearing what folks had to say at the visitation and celebration. Hope to see you at Bethel one Sunday, maybe at the outdoor service! Not sure when that is, but Glen knows :0) Cheers, Eric and Family

Cousin Andrew and Family,
Those memories are Golden! Those early trips are burned indelibly into my memory. I still remember those dirt track bikes you brothers had in the the back entry of the Weymouth pub! I wanted one and started badgering Mom and Dad from that day forward LOL. We will be over the pond soon we hope :0) Eric, Arlene and Families PS: Jarret wants to come too!

Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I remember her and your Dad quite vividly way back when you and I where in the Fireman's Youth Band. They would drop you off for practice and then pick you up afterwards. That was a very long time ago. Both very kind and wonderful people. My sincerest condolences.

Dean;
Time doesn't really matter does it? :0) I remember you as an excellent musician who could even play the piano well at that stage while I stumbled through the side drum and Rob O'Brien squawked at the trumpet. Rob actually made the celebration and wore the Murray tartan too. I wasn't the only one showing kneecap eh! Thank you for your condolences and maybe you'll be back for the Hector celebrations?
Cheers Old Buddy

We met Steve and Kay shortly after we moved to this area from Hfx/Dartmouth in the late 1970's. And she was a big presence in Scotsburn and Pictou . And we got to know Arlene too . Though Kay has been unable to be active in the community we have all been thinking of her . The 55+ Club is still on the go and she showed many that keeping active keeps you fit and happy! She is truly an elder to be remembered .

+ 1
Where do I begin?
Kay was simply my ‘Other Mother’. She and my Mom were coincidentally pregnant with Eric and me the same year (1961). In fact, they were pregnant with my brother Chris and Eric’s sister Arlene the same year as well. Their respective husbands served in the RCN together and evolved into lifetime companions passing away within seven months of one another.
Our families spent incredibly enjoyable times with one another over the decades: So many happy memories.
For those of you on this planet that didn’t get the opportunity to get acquainted with Kay in your lifetime, I convey my sincerest sympathies. She was simply one of a kind, a limited edition of a human being: an artist’s proof extrodinaire.
Her punctuating laugh, her insightful observations, her bright-eyed smile. We will never see her like again. I feel so fortunate to have known her.
Her underlying cerebrovascular disease (secondary to her primary atrial fibrillation) definitely robbed her of years of productive existence. Nonetheless, she persevered most steadfastly to make due with the hand with which she had been unfairly dealt. (As a proper academic she would never had accepted ending a sentence with a preposition).
I will be consoled by her clarity of observation, her depthless knowledge, her endless insight.
Kay Wilson broke the bank in terms of making this planet a better place. She will definitely be missed. I certainly will be missing her for the remainder of my “Four score and seven”.
I am a better person for have had crossed paths with her on this “mortal coil’.
Thank you Kay.

Herb and I are sorry to hear about Kay's passing and are sending her family and friends our sincere condolences. I must say, what a wonderful obituary and tribute to her, about her life and the family, which was one of the best obituaries I've read. It always upsets me when I see obituaries where there is just one or two sentences about the person - you showed us a lifetime of ups, downs and how she lived such a full and busy life of bringing joy to so many. Obviously Kay was also a great story-teller since you know so much about her early years, besides all the years of memories made as a family. I know your grief will be eased somewhat by the love and support of your family and all the friends that Kay made over the years, as well as all your treasured memories.

To my Aunt Kay,
I was so sorry to hear of your passing.
I spent so many hours with the Wilson clan while spending my summers in Pictou. During my teenage years, Arlene and I became fast friends, and we tried your patience on more than one occasion.
I remember your love of animals, and the many cats and dogs who were fortunate enough to find a home with you. I remember a lovely, silly dog of Alan's named Ringo who watched over both properties via the cornfields. A corgi named Penny who lived to chase away the racoons from the chickens. We shared a love for animals and I even developed a fondness for the pigs.
On our last family dinner before your stroke in 2017, you departed with leftovers for the resident crow.
I thank you for those memories.
To Arlene and Eric: I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you both.
with love,
Kathy Hart (Patterson)

Those really were "halcyon" days back in the twilight of our youth. Arlene and I often talk about those visits back and forth between here and the Valley and the beaches. And I spoke with Judy and she finally has forgiven us for the "incident" upstairs :0) You remember? Please come up for a visit soon.

She was one of the good ones! No doubt! She often talked about you and Susan arriving with a handle of wine for dinner just after you arrived in Scotsburn! We knew we were in for a treat LOL. Mom always said that with each new Minister, God always called the perfect fit for Bethel, and she has been proven correct :0) Hope you can get back here to retire. You both belong here.
