Obituary of Anne Marie George

GEORGE, Anne Marie Pictou April 15, 1946 - March 13, 2023. It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, sister and aunt, Anne Marie (MacDonald) George at home on March 13, 2023. Born and raised in Pictou she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Florence (Owen) MacDonald. In her early years she worked at the Stedman’s Dept Store in Pictou taking care of the knitting and sewing section. An avid knitter herself, she made many baby sets for friends and family and outfitted her girls with many sweaters. She was predeceased by her husband, Mellie and her brother, Donald. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (home) and Wendy (Ashley) Murray, Fall River, NS; sister, Barb Murray, Pictou; nieces, Nancy Murray, Caribou; Elizabeth (Dan) Wilband, Halifax; and Stephen (Lindsay) Murray, Okotoks, AB; sister-in-law, Ria MacDonald; nephew, Jonathan, Calgary, AB; nieces, Angela (Kyle) Moser, Fort McMurray, AB; and Ariel (Noel) Jeffrey, Trenton, NS; 6 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews and her furry companion Mozzie who brought her so much joy. A special thank you to the VON for their care over the past 2 weeks. She looked forward to their visits every day. A Celebration of life will be held Saturday June 10th from 2-4 PM at the New Horizons Club, Pictou. Donations can be made in her memory to the Pictou County SPCA or the Stella Maris Cemetery Fund. Mother, you left us beautiful memories and you will always be in our hearts.
