Oct. 9, 1959 – Jan. 13, 2023
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ron, age 63 of Pictou, at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Ron was the fifth of seven children born to George and Clara Halverson. He was born in Halifax and his family relocated to Pictou when he was a year old. Ron worked for many years at Scott Paper, SW Weeks, and most recently at GPF Tree Services. In years past, he loved to play golf and curl. One year he and his brother John made it to the Provincial Curling Championships. For several years he enjoyed playing darts with his friends at the Pictou Legion. Ron was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends and family and could fix just about anything. Back in the day, he was known as “Bonehead” by Donald and his friends. The more he loved you, the more he picked on you! He enjoyed going to car shows and was anxious to restore his 1966 mustang. Ron is survived by his partner of 26 years, Cindy Henderson; son, Jordan Henderson (Faith); daughter, (his Little Princess) Synthia Henderson (Sydney); stepson, Todd MacDonald and his friend, Jose Cruz; stepdaughters, Tabatha Sept (Garth), Medicine Hat, AB; Amanda Hoare (Chucky); grandchildren, Brooklyn and Kade Henry Sept; brother, Brian (Carol), Mississauga, ON; sister, Sharon Stanley (Art Ashley), Greenhill; brothers, Bruce (Pam), Windsor NS; Rick, Durham; John (Michelle), Georgetown, ON; Paul, Durham; sisters-in-law, Cheryl MacDonald (Jim), Karen Langille (Brian), Lynda Manning (Allan), Nancy Langille and many nieces and nephews. Ron enjoyed his fur babies Oreo, Kiki and Ginger. Ron was predeceased by his parents, George and Clara Halverson; his father and mother-in-law, Fred and Jean Henderson and his brother-in-law, Larry Langille. Donations in Ron's memory may be made to the Pictou Legion or a charity of your choice. In keeping with Ron's wishes there will be no visitation. Burial will be at the Hamilton Cemetery, River John, NS. Cremation has taken place, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. “In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still; in our hearts, you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.”
