1934-2022
It is with broken hearts that the family announce the passing of Mary Myrtle (Fraser) Wooldridge of Toney River on November 25, 2022 at home, at the age of 87. Myrtle was born in Millbrook, Pictou County on December 12, 1934, she was the youngest daughter of the late James Daniel and Jessie (MacLeod) Fraser. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Myrtle married Bruce Wooldridge from PEI on January 25, 1954. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Myrtle is survived by her children, Carolyn (Bill) Elliott, Shirley Rankin, Jessie (Ron) Cheverie, Steven Bruce and Mary (Burns) Elliott. She was known as Nannie Myrtle to her grandchildren, Bruce, Bradley and Blaine Elliott, Caralei Myrtle (Joseph) White, Sandy (Megan) Rankin, Lynda (Jamie) Gilbert, Ronnie (Jessica) Cheverie, Amy and Emily Elliott; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Mya, Kathryn, Kaylynn, Elijah, Spencer, Cohen, Ryleigh, Angus, Abby and Kali. She was predeceased by her husband on December 28, 1992 and son-in-law, Alex Rankin; siblings, Allister, Vera (MacCulloch), James, Ella (Tupper), Chester (in infancy), Lloyd, Donald, Evelyn (Robinson), Jean (Henderson) and Raymond. A special thank you to her family Dr. Randy Burrill for his many years of care and compassion. Thank you to the V.O.N and Palliative Home Care team for these last months of difficult care and for their wonderful support. Myrtle felt very blessed to have Shawn and Melissa care for her when at the Aberdeen ATC Unit, second floor. Their caring touch and big hearts helped to allow mom feel loved and right at home with them. Mom shared many memories that warmed out hearts. Glenn Hicks and staff at Pharmasave Pictou your care was above and beyond. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, concern and prayers. Always remember life is what you make it. Tomorrow is not a promise. Live life to the fullest and dream big. Don’t put off until tomorrow what can be done today. Love deeply and smile often and always be kind above all. Never judge someone because nobody knows what daily life is like for someone else. Please give the gift of life and donate blood and platelets. Every family has been touched by this need. Those who receive this gift feel loved and blessed. Family flowers only please. Donations in Myrtle’s memory may be made to the Riverbank Cemetery in Toney Mills, NS 1720 Toney River, Pictou County, NS B0K 1N0. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 30th from 1-3 PM at St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Toney River, with the service to follow at 3 PM with Rev. Kenneth Stright officiating assisted by Rev. Enjei Achah. Private family interment will be held. Myrtle’s family wishes to express our thanks to Glenn Livingston and staff at McLaren Funeral Home.
