HICKS, K. ‘Faye’ Harris Road, Pictou County Kathleen “Faye” (MacIsaac) Hicks, beloved mother and wife passed away on November 12, 2022. Faye was born in Sunnybrae, Nova Scotia on December 14, 1943 to her parents Bessie and Don MacIsaac. Faye chose a career in nursing after graduating from East Pictou Rural High. She graduated from the Halifax VG Hospital class of ‘65B. It was here she made an incredible group of lifelong friends. Faye later finished a Diploma in Public Health from Dalhousie University. She moved to Pictou with her family and co-owned Pictou Pharmasave with her husband Don for over 30 years. Faye was a selfless person. She firmly believed in generosity and often carried out acts of kindness. Her love language was food. She was happiest throwing celebration dinners and cooking for her family. She was an incredible baker and known for her fudge, cream puffs and pies. Our mother exemplified grace, humour and strength in the face of her illness. Faye is survived by her loving and supportive husband of 53 years, Don. She was the best mother to her three children, Shelley (Ron) Cameron, Halifax; Janice (Mark) Currie, Caribou and Glenn (Jennifer) Hicks, New Glasgow. She loved her seven granddaughters, Rena and Rowan Cameron, Mya and Maria Currie, Jaime and Sarah Scott-Barter and Isla Hicks. She is survived by her brothers, Eldridge (Carolyn) and Randall (Dolly) MacIsaac and their children; uncles, Simon Fraser and Ben MacIsaac; aunts Helen Roberts, Catherine Muise and Mary MacIsaac and many cousins.
