I met George in 2010 when I visited Pictou County and George very graciously acted as my host. George was the nephew of my own Great-Uncle by Marriage, John Bedford,wo was born in Pictou Town in 1975 in a small home very near to the house George and his wife shared. Both George and "Shorty" very extremely gracious. George arranged our accommodation and took me on a tour of Pictou while telling me about a visit made by his Uncle John Bedford that occurred back in 1953 when his uncle and my G-Aunt Hughena MacDonald, who was born in New Glasgow, went back to Pictou for their 50th wedding anniversary. I have nothing but great memories of that visit and sadly, both will remain embedded in my mind forever. My condolences to his son Lewis and his family on their loss.

I loved George , I meet him when I worked at Frizzell’s Plumbing and Heating many years ago . He would drop in to see
my boss Ralph Heighton and he would always talk to me he went to school with my Mother Eleanor Lyons. He would
always call me Josephine the plumber and he did that for many years wherever we meet. I was a westender living on
Bark Street in my younger years. George was a great guy with a big heart and his roast beef dinners were the best.

Dear Lewis, Lisa, and girls,
It is March 15, and I just now heard of George's passing. I am so very sorry, Lewis, that you lost your mom and dad. And that you lost them both in such a short period of time. Losing a parent, parents is devastating, I know. I have so many wonderful memories of both Shorty and George, they both always made me feel so welcome in your home when we were young. I will never forget your mom's beauty and amazing kindness, nor will I forget your dad's great sense of humour and how he always made me laugh. I don't have the right words to tell you how sorry I am for your losses, just please know you are in my thoughts, and my prayers.

On behalf of Anderson MacDonald and my mom, our sincere condolences. He was a frequent visitor to my uncle and the two would come up with many antics of cutting trees on their woodlots. I expect that both their spirits will be watching over their favorite spot by the shore.

Mr.and Mrs. Bedford driving down Hill Street was a familiar sight over the last 25 years. There were always waves, smiles and a maybe quick chat. May they be blessed with the best Cadillac Heaven can supply.
