LANGILLE, Donna L. Pictou With grief heavy in our hearts, the family of Donna Lynn Langille announces her sudden passing. Donna left us peacefully at the age of 66, in the company of loved ones on December 1st, 2021 while in care at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Donna was born in Pictou on September 17th, 1955 to George Kipling “Kay” and Kathleen MacKenzie. Donna will be missed by many. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen; son, Jason; daughter, Tara (Chuck); grandchildren, Hayley, Zachary, Gage, Mya, and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Talon; her brothers, Michael (Gail), Rick (Helen), and Scott (Suzanne); her sister, Mary Anne (Wayne); and many loving nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Wayne Langille, who passed in 2018; father, George; brothers, Barry and Gary; and sister, Heather. An ever-loving and generous spirit, Donna had an endless depth of care for others. For our family, Donna was a devoted caretaker who always dealt in tough love and gentle compassion in equal measure, hand-in-hand; in this way, she both guided and grounded us, and encouraged others to grow into their best selves. Her presence radiated warmth and comfort like a hearth—which stemmed, no doubt, from how much she loved homemaking. Above all, Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doting on her loved ones, and took immense pride in tending to her family home. Donna always kept busy as a skillful knitter and an avid reader. She delighted in sharing her hobbies with her loved ones, whether it be through offering lessons in knitting or lending out the last great novel she had discovered. She also enjoyed keeping active, especially by going for walks with her dearest friend, Rhoda. Though departed in body, Donna’s heart and soul lives on through her loved ones: she is forever carried in each of us through the warmth, nurturement, and care she has instilled in us all. A private interment will take place at a later date, for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s name and memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Our deepest gratitude is extended to the staff at the Aberdeen Hospital, who cared for Donna and ensured her comfort. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
