Obituary of John William Matheson

MATHESON, John W. River John We sadly announce the passing of John William Matheson of River John, on Sunday November 28, 2021 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Hamilton, Ontario on December 3, 1972, he was the son of the late John and Diane (Elliot) Matheson. He was a Master Technician at TriCounty Ford, Tatamagouche for the past 24 years. He enjoyed working with his tractor and being in the woods, spending time with family and hanging out at the shop with his friends. He is survived by partner, Tammy Fraser; children, Hayden, Hunter, and Shaelyn Matheson; sisters, Anne Marie (Randy) Langille, Tammy Matheson (Kevin Arbuckle); nephews, Cory, Justin, Alan, Shane; niece, Shelby; grandmother, Viola Johnson; uncle, Fraser (Darlene) Johnson; aunts, Patti (Ron) Malyk, Mary Ellen Johnson (Bob), Marilyn Moffat; as well as 3 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews. A graveside service will take place Friday at 2 PM in Riverbank Cemetery, Toney Mills with Rev. Enjei Achah officiating. All friends and family are welcome. Masks and proof of full vaccination required. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital.
