Dear Kay and family: We were so saddened to hear of Carvell’s passing. We both have very fond memories of working with Carvell in General Commercial in Halifax back in the day.
He was so pleasant to work with, such an honest, hard working, sincere person, who loved a good laugh.
Your wonderful memories and the support of friends and family will help you in this time of great sorrow. Jim and Kaye Watt

Very sorry to hear of Carvell's passing. During the summer of 1979, I was on his crew from MT&T, who were responsible for canvassing all the customers from the Cumberland Rural Telephone Co. which covered the area from Amherst Point to Pugwash. What I remember most about Carvell was his dedication to the company and his striving to have any job done thoroughly and completely. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of Carvells passing. I had worked with Carvell at MT&T. We were always joking, like the time I sent the family all the vegetables but not the Turkey for Thanksgiving dinner and no name attached. I am sending my sincere condolences at this time and he sure will be missed. Shirley Myers

Deepest Sympathy to all the family. I had the pleasure to work with Carvell for many years. Always a chat and a chuckle whenever we met after retirement and Carvell always wanted to know how your family was and where they were. May he RIP

Carvell was the sweetest man. He introduced me to BBQing (something we only did when you guys rolled into the backyard with your camper, or we joined the Riley clan on a road trip). He would sneak me extra marshmallows when mine fell off the stick. And he would conveniently leave the bag out, knowing I liked to grab a few extra (because eating marshmallows in bed is a true joy!).
I can't recall Carvell ever being mad. Truthfully, in every memory he's smiling. Usually at Carla or Dawn or Kay.
He was the epitome of 'the family man'. And while I didn't know him as a grandad, I expect he was spectacular in that role. It feels tailor made for him!
I am so sorry for your loss.

Dawn, Carla, Kay and families, I will always remember Carvell for his kindness, generosity and quick witted sense of humour but most of all for his soft spoken voice and warm smile. Heaven has gained an angel. He always made me feel like part of the family. May his light always shine on in your memories and May he Rest In Peace, love and Prayers
