Obituary of Margaret 'LaVerne' Battist

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret ‘Laverne’ (Steele) Battist, age 72, of Sunrise Trail, Pictou County, announce her passing on Monday March 5th, 2018.  Born in Pictou on December 8, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Laura (Farrell) Steele, of Prince Edward Island.  Laverne lived, worked and raised her family in the Pictou area with the light of her life, the late Ronald Battist, by her side.  It is with peaceful hearts that her family grieve her passing, knowing she has been reunited with her loving husband, her beloved parents, and the siblings who predeceased her.  She is survived by her son, Wade (Jacquelune) Battist, Bon Accord, Alberta; daughter, LaurettaLynn (David) Stewart, Limerock, Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Ronnie, Emily and Thomas.  No visitation at her request.  Family service will be held graveside, in Stella Maris Cemetery, Pictou, at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinson Society.  www.mclarenfuneral.ca
