Alta and family:
I am sorry to hear the passing of Al. I first met Al at the Pictou marina where I kept my sail boat and later when I joined K40. Al was quite a fighter and always and always remained in good spirits even though his liver was failing. When K40 disbanded we would meet twice a year, once at the Dock at Christmas time and we would have our lobster party at my cottage in June. Al would always walk down to the beach to look over the Strait, a place he would pass many times in his sail boat. The last couple of years he did not go to the beach and I was concerned he was weakening. Regardless, Al always a good attitude and never complained about his health. Al will be missed whenever the guys in K40 get together again.

My brother Allan was a tremendous influence on me when I was a boy. He was seven years senior to me, so naturally we traveled in different circles, but he never ignored me, his kid brother, but actually included me in many of his activities. Many’s the time he took me along on a drive, for even then he had a great passion for cars. I will greatly miss him.

Dear Alta and family, I would like to convey my sincere condolences on your loss. Al and Jack were great friends while in Bridgetown and always kept in touch over the years. Jack and I have great memories of sailing with Al on the Deliverance. Not being sailors ourselves, Jack loved to recount his experience of their trip to the Magdelines in the fog. He was so pleased to have Al visit during his illness last March. He would have been very saddened to hear of Al's passing.
With deepest sympathy, Irene Ferguson

To Shelley, Jeff and Alta,
Deepest sympathy on your loss.
I recall Allan's adventurous spirit, going for a sail on his boat with my dad, and getting a red-eye ride from him one night all the way across Nova Scotia to your grandfather's old riding camp. Those are fond memories because I enjoyed spending time with him - a great cousin to have had

Dear Alta and families,
Allan will be missed by many. We maintained contact from our high school days and I feel fortunate to count him as a friend. He invited me on one of his sailing trips to the Bras D’ors, my only ever sailing trip with wonderful memories. Fast forward to your lives together, and our pleasure to have met you and visited your home and town during lobster days. Please accept our sympathy to you, your family and Allan’s family. We hope to be able to attend a future service if/when Covid allows. Much love, Lynda and Ed MacNeill

My condolences to the Fraser family on the death of Allan. I worked with Allan at Michelin in Granton back in the last 1970's, prior to moving to Michelin here in the Annapolis Valley. Back in 1981, while on training for Michelin in South Carolina, I spent an entire day with Allan and his family up in the mountains north of Greenville. We crossed paths a number of times since then, mostly due to visits back to the Granton plant. We also have a "by-marriage connection", as my oldest son Joel is married to Allans' niece Shannon, his brother Rob's daughter. He will be missed. Conrad LeLièvre
