Obituary of Gerald Austin Langille

LANGILLE, Gerald A. New Glasgow Gerald Austin Langille, age 86, of New Glasgow passed away February 4th, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. He was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Euthemia “Mamie” Langille of Granton. Gerald was born on August 14th 1934. He was a Jack of many trades, working at Proudfoot’s, John Deer in Alma, and MacGregor’s in Thorburn. He was a well-known fella, and was a great and loving father of 4 and grandfather of 3. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Sarah (Macdonald); his children, Steve, New Glasgow; Hughie (Bernice), New Glasgow; Jennifer, Aldergrove, BC; Sandra (John Acheson), New Glasgow; his grandchildren, Jason, Alberta; Jordan, Toronto; Nicole, New Glasgow; his siblings, Edison (Durece), Reg (Vivian), Irma (Graham), and sister-in-law, Phyllis. Gerald, or as I would call him “Papa”, was my best friend. We spent a lot of time with each other but somehow it still doesn’t seem like it was enough. I loved him with all of my heart, and I am so grateful that he was my grandfather and was by my side for as long as he was. I will always be thinking about him and all of the memories we have together. It was a privilege to be in his presence and I will always be thinking about you everyday. I love and miss you so much. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
