Gerald Austin Langille, age 86, of New Glasgow passed away February 4th, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. He was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Euthemia “Mamie” Langille of Granton. Gerald was born on August 14th 1934. He was a Jack of many trades, working at Proudfoot’s, John Deer in Alma, and MacGregor’s in Thorburn. He was a well-known fella, and was a great and loving father of 4 and grandfather of 3. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Sarah (Macdonald); his children, Steve, New Glasgow; Hughie (Bernice), New Glasgow; Jennifer, Aldergrove, BC; Sandra (John Acheson), New Glasgow; his grandchildren, Jason, Alberta; Jordan, Toronto; Nicole, New Glasgow; his siblings, Edison (Durece), Reg (Vivian), Irma (Graham), and sister-in-law, Phyllis. Gerald, or as I would call him “Papa”, was my best friend. We spent a lot of time with each other but somehow it still doesn’t seem like it was enough. I loved him with all of my heart, and I am so grateful that he was my grandfather and was by my side for as long as he was. I will always be thinking about him and all of the memories we have together. It was a privilege to be in his presence and I will always be thinking about you everyday. I love and miss you so much. I miss our talks we would have. -Love, your girl Nicole. Thank you for everything, my husband, our father, and grandfather. Love you always. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
