Edie, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of John. "Grief, I've learned, is really just love. It's all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gather up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go." Hold onto all the wonderful memories of John. Our sincere condolences to you.

Dearest Edie and family, my sincere condolences on the passing of John. He was such a gentle man.
I had the privilege of meeting John at G.L. Roberts C.V.I. in Oshawa. He would come to pick up Edie after she finished work. At times, she wasn’t quite ready so he would wait in the office with us. His humor-laced stories were one of a kind.
John treasured Edie and it was so evident by the way he spoke about her. Family was also at the top of his list, as he would often share some tidbit of what they were up to. And of course, I got an education on motorcycles.
Edie, may the memories you created together sustain, comfort and strengthen you during this most difficult time.

Please accept my deepest condolences. John was a big man with a big heart. I always enjoyed chatting with him during our years as colleagues at Eastdale, and greatly appreciated his kind words just last May after the passing of my wife Mary, who also taught at ECVI. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of John's passing, at such an early age. He always took an interest in the lives of his Colleagues.
I last saw John at Eastdale's 50th Anniversary. His first question was about the welfare of his good, old friend, Willi Hahn, who was retired and living alone. John's warm heart and concern for others will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace, John.

Our deepest sympathies to Edie and families in the passing of John, a friend and colleague to many. John brightened the halls of Eastdale with his humour and friendship and stories of a retirement dream place called Nova Scotia. He felt truly at home in Scotsburn and he will be deeply missed by friends and colleagues in Ontario. Fran and Steve Musial

I’m truly sorry to learn of John’s passing. A big guy with a huge and kind heart, John always had a ready smile, and quick wit. The last time I saw him was at a Whitby, Ontario motorcycle shop doing the things he loved. He told me how much he enjoyed living ‘Down East’ and all about his lastest bike - a Harley! I just can’t believe he’s gone now. Rest In Peace, my friend!

Hi Edie,
So sorry to hear of John's passing. From the bottom of our heart to yours and your family(ies), our most sincere condolences. As you know, we have known you and John since our days at Queen's University in Kingston, and as a photographer at our wedding in 1989. The good times everyone remembers. John left too soon. May we all take comfort in the good memories and I will always remember his bottom of his heart felt laughter. It was always pleasant to discuss with John. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers in during these difficult times. You are far from us but very close in our hearts. Rest in peace John. Take care Edie... Jeanne and Roger.

We are so in disbelief of the passing of John. Edie we hope that your memories will lessen the pain and the void.
He had such a presence wherever he went. His laugh was one of a kind as was he. He saw the positive in any situation and it was contagious. He will be missed by so many groups. He has been a friend for 60 years since he and Mario were in Navy League. A great and strong friendship blossomed. He was a story teller and his stories were matched by none. Our children loved when "Mr. Kennedy" would drop in "just for a bit" and he would end up telling them stories or offering advice or just listening to them. John your quick trips to Nova Scotia over a long weekend will be highlights for your "shot gun" passenger. Rest in peace our dear friend

Edie, we are so very sorry for your loss and are passing on condolences to you and your family. John was a big man with a big heart that always saw the good in others. John was the first one to help out if you needed a hand. Most of all, John was a people-person who enjoyed talking with and meeting new people. "JFK" as we always referred to him as, always had a story to share from his life - about growing up along the shores of Lake Ontario, driving dump trucks, working as a police officer and his days as a school teacher, among other things. John touched a lot of lives and the world is a better place because of that. Edie, we are keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss JFK, his laugh, his knowledge and, most of all, his friendship.

From a chance meeting at a 1993 motorcycle rally in Gananoque, ON, to an off grid solar residence in Scotsburn, NS, it has been quite a ride with you pal. Peggy and I are privileged to have had you in our lives and share this precious time with you and Edie. Oh, the motorcycling fun we had, the kms we travelled and the other friends we met along the way. All of which, you were the glue. We already dearly miss you. Keep your eyes up, knees to the tank and “… one day you will be waiting and together we will ride, once more again as Brothers, the white line side by side” (Joe Elison, Ride on Angles Wings). Love Paul & Peggy
