Joyce became a good FB friend to us. After losing her husband Danny to ALS, she shared much wisdom, compassion and knowledge with us of how to live with ALS. She was a CALS (caregiver to a person with ALS) who had a golden heart. She was always there to pull MaryLou and I through some very dark days. Joyce had a special gift of friendship. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Danielle, Brendan and Jordan, and to her extended family members. She is no longer encumbered by a body ravaged by cancer and reunited with the love of her life Danny. Joyce, thank you for enriching our lives. You became a good and trusted friend. May their be wind beneath your winds. You and Danny will fly higher than an eagle. May the blessings be.

My sincere deep condolences on the loss of such a wonderful kind lady...I did not know Joyce well..but I was a patient in her room at the Aberdeen Hospital in July when she was diagnosed..we sat and talked and I held her hand as she cried...It was an honor to know such a lovely person for the three days we spent sharing that room and our thoughts...
she spoke of her children and her love for them...I will not forget her..

So very sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. She was a true trooper. She loved her family with a passion and loved life. I taught her in grade 6 and then in Adult Learning. She always gave her best and was a pleasure to work with. She now rests with our God and is at peace after a long struggle.

growing up you were always there for me, you even vowed to take care of me if anything ever happened to my parents - you've loved me unconditionally, even when I couldnt love myself
You gave me precious memories to treasure forever & the opportunity to wear my first white dress and walk down the isle.. I will never forget.
You've always taken the time to keep in contact with me, even with 1805 km distance between us.
you've made every attempt to know my children and love them as much as you do me
from the love you've shown me, I know just how loved and cared for your children are, you are dedicated, appreciated, valued and most of all loved and cherished. something that will carry on forever.

You will be missed Auntie Joyce. Our thoughts and prayers are with Danielle, Brandan and Jordan. Your mom was a wonderful mom, wife and aunt and the memories I have with her were wonderful. We had many many laughs when we were down in Pictou. Even a few laughs on the phone last month. She is no longer in pain and she is back in your dad's arms again.
