Obituary of Stanley Heinsma

HEINSMA, Stanley  -75, of Martha Street, Pictou, passed away January 26, 2018 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.  Born in Kubaard, Holland, he was a son of the late Sjoerd & Johanna (Tjalsma) Heinsma.  An industrial electrician by trade, he was a longtime employee of Michelin Tire, and was a man of many interests.  He enjoyed working on projects, like boats, planes, and broken equipment.  He  was also an avid amateur radio operator.  Stan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda (Smith); sons, Donald (Verna), Pictou and William, Montana; eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Lynda) Heinsma, Ontario; sisters, Renske (Tom) Hartolt, Ontario; Diety (Dennis) McBrearty, British Columbia; Betty Ann (John) Hughes, Ontario; many nieces and nephews; and he will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law, Eleanor Smith, Pictou.  Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at his request.  www.mclarenfuneral.ca
