Today we lost a much loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.  Vernon passed away on August 18, 2019 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow in the early morning due to heart complications and diabetes.  Two months short of his 48th birthday.  Along with family he had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who looked out for him and whom he thought so much of.  Vernon is survived by his brother, Jack; sisters, Sylvia Hogg, Jean (Jim) McDowell, Barb (Murray) Porter; nieces, Lori and Barb Hogg; nephews, David, Jimmy and Bruce McDowell, Jonathan Porter, John Galbraith; uncle, Charles Fergus, and aunts, Margaret Fergus and Lexie Waters; as well as numerous cousins.  Vernon was predeceased by his parents, Roberta and John Galbraith and brother-in-law Robert Hogg.  Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by Vernon’s request. A graveside service will be held for family and friends at 2PM, Wednesday, August 21st at Seaview Cemetery.  Reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 16, Pictou.  Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation.
