Marie Eva “Juliette” MacIsaac passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on July 24, 2019.  Juliette was born at home in Cap Pelé, NB to Mathias and Germaine Cormier on July 20, 1933.  Mom was always proud of her Acadian heritage.  She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Colin whom she met in Pictou, as her family settled there from Cap Pele and his from Inverness, NS.  Colin and Juliette were married for 66 years, raising five children who will continue to cherish and celebrate their Mother, Robert (Marian), Gerard (Lorna), Colleen (Greg), Blaine (Marion), Darcy (Wendy).  Also surviving are 14 granddaughters who absolutely valued every moment with their grandmother, each of them acquiring at least one of Juliette’s special characteristics.  Mom loved doing the daily crypto quotes.  We discovered the last one she completed earlier this week.  It was “I just want women to always feel in control because we’re capable, we’re so capable”. This is exactly what Mom wanted for her granddaughters and she was so proud of them all.  Laura (Rex), Julie, Allison (Nathan), Danielle (Jay), Jillian (John), Sheena (Randy), Carlene (James), Josette, Chloe, Jenelle, Jordan (Derek), Caitlin (Jeff), Jenna Rose (Thomas) and Madeline (Cain) will miss their Grandma immensely.  Juliette’s legacy will also be enriched by her 15 great-grandchildren including Rylee, the youngest at 3 weeks whom she met on her birthday July 20th.  Juliette is also survived by her sisters, Rose Drouin, Leontine Gallant, Anne Truax; brothers, Harvey (Karen) Cormier, Frank (Mona) Cormier, Ron (Judy) Cormier, Leo Cormier; and sister-in-law, Jemima (Frank) MacKay.  Mom has her grandson, Colin Roger MacIsaac and her sister, Muriel Cote (Cormier) awaiting her along with special brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger Drouin, George Gallant, Jesse and Alfred LeBlanc, Roddie and Marie MacIsaac, Georgina and Billy Landry, John Dan and Kay MacIsaac, Jean Cote and others.  Juliette was passionate about her family, private in all that she did and modestly proud of the amazing things she accomplished together in life with Colin.  In particular, she was proud of the very special haven they created together for their family, the cottage on MacIsaac Lane in Caribou River.  She was a member of the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church and a long time Eucharistic Minister.  Visitation will take place at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou on Sunday July 28 from 6-8pm.  Funeral Mass will take place Monday July 29, 11am from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou with Father Peter MacDonald officiating.  A reception will be held in the Church Hall immediately following the service.  Burial will take place after the reception at Waterside Cemetery.  Colin and the children would like to thank all the health care providers Mom collaborated with over the years to achieve the best possible health outcomes.  So many to acknowledge, including Cindy who contributed so much to Mom’s care in the last few weeks, Ann McGim and the Palliative Care Team that enabled Mom to be home, VON Health Services, Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care, Aberdeen Hospital Staff and so many more people who Mom had absolute trust and confidence in.  Dr. Randy Burrill has been the most constant and caring person for Juliette over the years and we do not have enough words to express our gratitude for all that he has meant to our mother and family.  Thanks to all the family and friends who visited and sent caring and supportive messages to Mom and the family over the past several weeks, including her newest neighbours Yasser and Nada and their extended family.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Stella Maris Parish, Communities Assisting Refugees Now (CAiRN), the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.  In memory of our Mom, on July 29th, consider wearing a pin, or piece of jewellery reflecting one of Mom’s love of “Angels, Butterflies or Elephants”.  www.mclarenfuneral.ca
