JOHANSON, Mary Beverly “Bev” - 64, of New Glasgow and formerly of Westville and Pictou, passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2019 with family by her side in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a brief battle with illness. Bev was a loving soul who was witty with great sense of humour. She loved being surrounded by her family, especially children, loved cats, listening to music, and had a special fondness for George Canyon, her favourite artist. She was the daughter of the late Nils John Johanson and Mary Bridget Robinson and was predeceased by her half-brother, Jimmy Robinson; half-sister, Mary Louise Robinson; and half-brother, Robert Robinson. She is survived by her loving sister and caregiver, Belle Crawford; half-brother, Allison (Merica) Robinson and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of High Crest Home, New Glasgow, for their care and compassion where Bev resided before her death and the staff at the Aberdeen Hospital during her illness and final days. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 6-8 PM on Friday, June 7th in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 8th from McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, Pictou, followed by a graveside service at Stella Maris Cemetery, Pictou. A reception will follow at the Stella Maris Church Hall, Pictou. Donations in her memory may be made to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia at www.mentalhealthns.ca.
