Obituary of Marion Ruth Wilson
On Thursday March 28th our lovely mother, Marion Ruth Wilson, passed away quietly at the age of 88. Marion was born on December 1, 1930 in Westville NS, to Charles Edward and Gertrude (White-Cummings) Swan. She received her RN at the University of New Brunswick. On March 5, 1955 she married Dr. Robert “Bob” George Wilson in Toronto, where they raised four children, Charles Douglas “Doug” Wilson (Rita), Calgary, AB; sons, Joshua and Brandon. Donald “Don” Robert Wilson (Beth), Halifax, NS; daughter, Maggie and great-granddaughter, Harper Lace. Valerie Ann Burrows, Calgary, AB; daughter, Kayla and son Connor. David Andrew Wilson (Denise), Toney River, NS; and daughters, Harmony and Lindsey. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bob, Sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Thompson, infant brother, and son Doug. Marion was a stay at home mother until her children had grown up. She then pursued a career in the Toronto Real Estate Market. She then returned to nursing on a part time basis when she retired with her husband to their beloved summer home in Toney River, NS. and wintering in Siesta Key, Fl. After living in Calgary for several years Marion returned to NS to reside with her son David and his family in Pictou, NS. Marion has spent the past nine years living at the Maritime Oddfellows Home in Pictou NS. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the kind and caring staff at the Maritime Oddfellows Home. Special thanks to Dr. Randy Burrill, for his compassionate care over the years. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date in Riverbank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers any donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
