Obituary of Barbara Mae Pidgeon
PIDGEON, Barbara Mae -86, of Faulkland St., Pictou, passed away October 22, 2018 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Born in French River she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ola Mae (Miller) Tattrie of Truro. Barb spent most of her working years as a baker, first with IGA in Pictou and before retirement alongside her son at Pidgeon’s Bakery, also in Pictou. She was a member of the Stella Maris Catholic Church, and for a while the New Horizons Club in Pictou where she enjoyed playing cards, but here favorite things were her grandchildren, Jack, Alexis and Lakyn. She will also be missed by her grand dog, Roo. She is survived by her son, John (Tabetha) Pidgeon, Pictou; and daughter, Jane (Camille) Pidgeon-LeParque, Edmonton; brother, Cy Campbell and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack Pidgeon; brothers, Norman (Elsie) Tattrie, Court (Barb) Tattrie, Carl (Helen) Tattrie; sister, Nellie (Wilson) Richards and her beloved dog, Nipper. There will be no service or visitation at the request of family. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Foundation of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful service, Drs Kwasnik and Jeans, and a special thank you to Rhonda for her guidance during this difficult time.
